This new LEED Silver facility was designed for the City of San Antonio with 3 vehicle apparatus bays and a dedicated emergency ambulance bay. Support accommodations include a Day Room, Dorm areas, Private Chief Office, and other work areas. With the facility being manned 24 hours a day, energy conservation was essential. Energy systems such as solar energy collection, daylighting, low-e glazing, increased insulation, and finish flooring made from recycled materials were all used in the construction.
