THE BAKERY BUILDING ON BROADWAY

In a coordinated effort between the Historical Design & Review Board and Chesney Morales Architects, the Butterkrust Bakery building underwent a large scale renovation and expansion. The original 1941 building was retrofitted with new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as, new insulated windows and a thorough cleaning of the existing brick facade. A new three story, 34,000sq.ft. expansion was constructed at the South end of the complex, and a new two-story 33,000sq.ft. Office Building at the North end. Special attention was given to the design to compliment the existing building's features and prepare the complex for a LEED SILVER rating upon completion.
